July 14, 2022Tips When Choosing A Private University
July 14, 2022The world is currently experiencing rapid development progress in various aspects of life, including the field of technology and information. The last few decades have proved the human ability to develop and utilize technology and information to bring many advantages and prosperity to life.
Even now, each of us, the majority of the world’s population, has become a generation that is very dependent on many products from the results of the latest technology and information. Technologies like smartphones, laptops, smart TVs, and so on have become an inseparable part of our daily lives. Without it all, we may be confused and find it difficult to do many things.
Thus, the world’s need for competent human resources in technology and information is also getting more significant. Seeing this, educational institutions, especially universities, try to stay relevant to the times by providing study programs that can answer the needs of today’s industry, one of which is through various study programs related to technology and information.
As one of the ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) based universities, Multimedia Nusantara University (UMN) also wants to contribute to producing a bright generation in the field of information and technology. In this article, we will discuss several majors in the field of information and technology available at UMN, along with their accreditations and career prospects.
-
Information Systems
At UMN itself, this department focuses on “Big Data,” which is expected to produce graduates who can analyze, design, implement and manage big data-based information systems that are in line with business needs and can support decision-making processes appropriate for the strategic plan of an organization’s business development in the future.
The department, which has received ‘B’ accreditation from BAN-PT, has also been equipped with various certifications in related fields that can further enrich the abilities and provisions of prospective graduates.
This department has career prospects: Information System Specialist, Data Analyst, Data Scientist, Database Developer, Database Administrator, ERP Consultant, Technopreneur, Researcher, and so on.
-
Informatics
The department, which focuses on “Intelligent & Secure Application,’ hopes to produce graduates with technical capabilities in Computer Science and have advantages in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Security, mobile application development, and multimedia applications.
Similar to the Information Systems major, the Informatics department is also equipped with various professional certification programs that can be an added value for graduates. Regarding accreditation, UMN Informatics Engineering has received a ‘B’ rating from BAN-PT.
This department has career prospects such as Technopreneur (Start-up Founder), Data Scientist, Machine Learning Engineer, Full-stack Developer, and so on.
-
Computer Engineering
By focusing on the “Internet of Things Technology,” this major aims to produce graduates who understand comprehensive computer systems engineering, which includes software, hardware, and infrastructure. UMN Computer Engineering graduates are expected to be able to engineer an intelligent and mobile system that is connected to a vast network and coordinates to carry out certain functions.
This department also provides prestigious certification services in its fields, such as Redhat Certified System Administrator and Huawei Certified Network Associate.
Already holding “B” accreditation, the career prospects of this department are also quite broad, such as Software Engineer (Web, Mobile, Desktop), IoT Engineer, Embedded System Engineer, System Engineer/Administrator, Network Engineer, and so on.
-
Electrical Engineering
With a focus on “Industrial Automation,’ this study program wants to produce graduates who master the scientific principles of electrical engineering and are skilled in control systems, robotics, and mechatronics. Graduates can design various electronic and mechanical instruments, control techniques, and computer programming to function automatically without human intervention.
The study program has also received a “B” accreditation from BAN-PT and provides PLC competency certification from TUV Rheinland and Festo.
The career prospects of this department, for example, are Industrial Automation Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Process Engineer, Control and Automation Engineer, Technopreneur, and so on.
-
Engineering Physics
“Energy Management” is the focus of this department to produce graduates with solid skills in green building and energy. Graduates will have specific abilities, such as understanding energy-efficient building design systems, energy audits in the building and industrial sector, renewable energy technology, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), and Building Information Modeling (BIM).
BAN-PT has officially recognized its quality by achieving “B” accreditation. In addition, this study program also offers Greenship Associate certification.
With this provision, it is hoped that UMN’s Physics Engineering graduates can have career prospects such as Building Energy Efficiency Specialist, Environmentally Sustainable Development (ESD) Engineer, High-Performance Building Engineer, Building Automation Engineer, Renewable Energy Engineer, and so on.
In addition to the accreditations of the study programs, UMN, as a higher education institution that is only 15 years old, can again maintain its achievements by getting the highest score of ‘A’ accreditation from BAN-PT. This is one proof of UMN’s commitment to producing excellent graduates. In addition to national accreditation, UMN has also won recognition from international associations such as AUN-QA (ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance) and IABEE (Indonesian Accreditation Board for Engineering Education).
UMN, in the future, will focus on becoming a World Class University that can create graduates who can compete globally with other international universities.
