January 5, 2022TANGERANG – Never stopping to improve the quality of existing education, Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN) collaborates with the Project Management Institute (PMI) of Indonesia Chapter. The signing of this Memorandum of Understanding which was held on Monday (20/12/21) via a zoom meeting was attended directly by the Chancellor of UMN, Dr. Ninok Leksono, M.A, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muliawati Siswanto, Dean of the Faculty of Business of UMN Dr. Florentina Kurniasari T., S.Sos., M.B.A., Head of Masters Management Technology Study Program (MMT-UMN) Dr. Prio Utomo, S.T, MPC, and PMI Indonesia Chapter President Alin Veronika, PMP, PMI-RMP and their staffs.
PMI Indonesia Chapter is a non-profit organization engaged in development of project management. Indonesia is one of the representatives. PMI helps to develop project management in Indonesian communities. In addition to cooperation with corporation which needs certification of project management, PMI has frequently entered into collaboration with a number of universities in Indonesia. PMI University has actively not only provided guest lectures in relation to project management but also developed curriculum in project management.
“I am interested in the tagline in the PMI’s video (the world is our war, time to rebuilding) as “time to rebuilding” has really given us the enthusiasm to improve and to start new steps. The end of the year is a time to contemplate and mull over what we have achieved this year and what we will do next year. The signing of the MOU with PMI Indonesia Chapter will, of course, give more travel companions go to through and to explore the year of 2022 and the years ahead for better futures,” said Ninok in his remarks.
According to Dr. Prio Utomo, PMI already has long gained the world-class credibility and track record in project management. The co-developments in development curriculum and conducting researches are aimed at developing students’ competencies in delivering project excellent in technology-based projects and synergy and transfer in knowledge of learning, research and certification program development in management project and portfolio for MMT students in particular, and UMN in general.
Boby Arinto, Head of the Relations and Cooperation Bureau of UMN said, “UMN choses PMI Indonesian as a partner of cooperation is due to the fact that both share the same geography, namely Indonesia. In addition, thanks to more than 180 PMI Chapters around the world, we can also communicate with all chapters, which will allow us to collaborate with them on various collaborative programs.”

PMI has frequently organized international competitions on project management, and UMN expects that in the future it can participate in those competitions not only to win but also to allow the students to learn how to manage a project properly but also interact with students of other universities.
“Since PMI has long been engaged in Project Management, cooperation with PMI will hopefully provide important knowledge for those who work in management, and, subsequently gives UMN graduates more opportunities to have ling & match with the business communities,” Prof. Dr. Muliawati concluded.
