November 8, 2023Tangerang – Since 2014, Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN) has been officially designated as a smoke-free campus, promoting healthy air quality across 100% of its grounds. In accordance with the Rector’s Decree No. 076/SK-R/XII/2014, smoking is strictly prohibited for all students, faculty, staff, and visitors within any campus area. This policy reflects the university’s commitment to providing a clean and healthy environment that supports the well-being of everyone in the community.
To ensure comprehensive adherence, UMN actively promotes awareness of this smoke-free policy. The rules are integrated into both the student code of ethics and the staff code of conduct, making it clear that maintaining a smoke-free environment is a shared responsibility. Through these measures, the university reinforces its dedication to fostering a campus culture that prioritizes health and well-being for all members.
In addition to these guidelines, the university has implemented an extensive on-campus campaign to remind everyone of the policy. Non-smoking reminders are prominently displayed through stickers in restrooms and large signs placed in strategic locations across the campus. These visible reminders play an important role in reinforcing the policy and ensuring that everyone, including visitors, is aware of UMN’s smoke-free commitment.
