Tangerang – The last day of the 2022 New Student Orientation (Orientasi Mahasiswa Baru/OMB) of Multimedia Nusantara University (UMN) (OMB UMN) channeled real support in creating a campus atmosphere that was safe, comfortable, and free from various cases of bullying and sexual violence. In this Day Two Expansion, OMB UMN encourages participants to be able to grow into a golden generation that is free from drugs and focuses on developing themselves amid industry 4.0. This is channeled through seminar presentations and the provision of modules to all participants by experts on Thursday (18/8/22).
“The first factor in the occurrence of sexual violence is the lack of education in terms of understanding and norms. The second is the inability to control oneself. It usually happens because we project a personal wound onto another person. Therefore, it is important for each individual to have empathy,” Rhaka Ghanisatria, founder of Being Human, said.
This is not far from the understanding that everyone has different boundaries, so we need to understand that. Not only discussing sexual violence and bullying but OMB UMN 2022 also invited Mulyanto, a psychologist from the Indonesian National Narcotics Agency, to provide education related to drugs.
“Many people are looking for a shortcut to be happy with drugs. In fact, by exercising, watching comedy, meditating, eating, and others can stimulate the formation of hormones, such as endorphins and oxytocin, which can make us happy too,” Mulyanto explained.

In addition, Mulyanto also corrected the misunderstanding that made drug users afraid to seek help.
“In fact, in Law no. 39 of 2009 concerning Narcotics, Indonesia is very human towards abusers. Indonesia has a Compulsory Reporting Institution. If there is a user who reports to the National Narcotics Agency, then the user will not be processed legally, but he will immediately be given medicine and carry out rehabilitation,” Mulyanto said.
Thus, according to him, we do not need to isolate them and let them lose their way. Instead, we can invite them to seek help at the hospital or report to the nearest National Narcotics Agency. Not many people know that the government will bear all these things as a form of state support for the self-development of the younger generation in the industrial era 4.0.
Unconsciously, OMB UMN 2022 has reached the peak of activities. The Tiksna/Person in Charge (PIC) division led the delivery of messages, impressions, and evaluations in each group. Several participants were also invited to come to the stage to read Yasan Basmara—or known as a love letter—which they wrote as an expression of love and appreciation to the 2022 OMB UMN committee.
This proves how a series of activities are carried out based on the principles of togetherness and brotherhood hazing-free.

Beyond that, OMB UMN 2022 also gave an appreciation to participants in the form of awards for the best groups and identities. There is also the “Carve Asha” (Mengukir Asha) content as a forum for participants to voice their hopes and hearts in entering the world of lectures.
“It is still a long journey. The world of education awaits, my friends. Keep it up. Do it with dedication and achieve as many achievements as possible. However, don’t forget to appreciate yourself,” Fedora Annabella, Chair of OMB UMN 2022, concluded. She then led the “student promises” (janji mahasiswa) reading, followed by more than 2,000 new students.
The Expansion Day 2 activity was closed with an inauguration offering by the entire 2022 OMB UMN committee. Every song lyrics, and movement chosen contained the meaning of congratulating participants who had officially become part of the big family of Multimedia Nusantara University (UMN) as well as an invitation to never give up in undergoing the world of education. More than that, the inauguration performance also raised the concept of education about the archipelago’s culture.

“The concept presented at the Inauguration is to make the participants more familiar with the types of traditional dances through the songs and names of their groups. Then, the participants can also see their struggles through several activities and it is hoped that they will turn their struggles into dreams,” Cindy Triana, the Coordinator of the OMB UMN 2022 event, explained.
It is hoped that the OMB UMN 2022 can be the initial step that starts the road to growth and process in the world of university for new students.
