Multimedia Nusantara University Connects with The Media through Halal Bihalal

TANGERANG – On Wednesday (10/05/23), Multimedia Nusantara University (UMN) held a Halal Bihalal with the Media. Halal Bihalal is an activity of forgiving each other for past mistakes after Eid.

The Halal Bihalal took place at a restaurant in the Central Jakarta area. Although he could not attend in person, Ninok Leksono, the Chancellor of Multimedia Nusantara University, delivered his remarks and gratitude to all media who took the time to attend to establish a friendship through a video.

Then the event continued with the delivery of information related to UMN’s current development, one of which is the increase in the number of UMN students who received the IISMA (Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards) scholarship held by the Ministry of Research and Technology. The Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Friska Natalia, expressed her pride for the 20 UMN students who had the opportunity to receive the IISMA scholarship.

“We are very proud, here are also present with us, there are Kalevi and Joan who are student representatives of the IISMA recipients, where 20 students from UMN were selected to compete with thousands of other students throughout Indonesia. Students were sent to various countries ranging from America, England, Japan, Australia, and others.”

In addition to IISMA, Friska also conveyed other proud achievements that UMN has obtained, such as the preparations made by UMN to go to a World Class University by participating and obtaining international accreditations such as IABEE, AUN-QA, and FIBAA. 

“Because this international accreditation certainly cannot be ignored if we want to enter the realm of World Class University,” Friska said. 

Not only related to IISMA and World Class University, but Friska also shared the latest information with the media who attended the Halal Bihalal regarding the latest achievements obtained by UMN– like how UMN has pocketed at least five awards in the Rakorda (Regional Coordination Meeting) LLDIKTI3 event. 

The Vice Chancellor for General Administration and Finance, Andrey Andoko, who was also present at the Halal Bihalal event, also revealed UMN’s future program to all the media regarding the latest study program to be held at UMN, namely the “Architecture Profession Study Program” which will begin in the next Semester at the end of August. Andrey also revealed that this study program is rare.

The Architecture Profession Study Program is an advanced study program from the Architecture study program. “The Architecture Profession Study Program is in collaboration with an Association, namely the Indonesian Architect Association (IAI). Later, the lecturers will come from IAI, because it has something to do with professions,” Andrey continued.

In addition to the Architecture Study Program, Andrey also shared UMN’s new Internationalization program, namely the mobility program, where later UMN is expected to be able to bring in international students to study at UMN by utilizing the cooperation that has been established between UMN and foreign universities that have partnered before.

In addition to student mobility programs, Andrey also added they hope to also conduct lecturer exchanges between UMN and foreign universities in the future.

“Like yesterday, there was a lecturer from the University of East Philippines who came for a week to UMN to teaching, research, and conduct community service. Vice versa, UMN lecturers will also fly to the Philippines to teach and conduct joint research,” Andrey concluded before ending the Halal Bihalal with questions and answers and eating together.
