Jakarta – Multimedia Nusantara University (Universitas Multimedia Nusantara/UMN) officially collaborates with PT MRT Jakarta. The collaboration between UMN and MRT focuses on exploring business, technology, data, and human resource development. The signing of the MoU was held at the Jakarta MRT Transport Hub Building on Tuesday (28/11/23).
The MoU signing was attended by Farchad M. Mahfud, Director of Business Development; Teddy Surianto, Chairman of the Multimedia Nusantara Foundation; Ir. Andrey Andoko, M.Sc, UMN Vice-Rector; Christoforus Andrianto, Corporate Business of UMN; and Hirzi Hasan, Business Expansion of MRT Jakarta.
Farchad M. Mahfud, the Business Development Director of MRT Jakarta, was also happy with the signing of this MoU. Farchad hopes this collaboration can continue empowering business, technology, and people.

“UMN is the first campus to collaborate with MRT Jakarta. We are so happy to explore this collaboration. There are also various things that we want to convey on this occasion today, like how we are currently building several business portfolios in addition to the new line business portfolio, the monetization of our phase one line assets, and the development of the transit area which focuses on property and area management,” Farchad said.
In this collaboration, Farchad said that MRT needs this collaboration to develop creative industries inherent in it for art, music, and culture. One of which is in the transit-oriented development (TOD) area.
“Hopefully, this collaboration can continue and become a concrete collaboration, and I will closely monitor my team so that it can be a realized collaboration that benefits both parties,” Farchad concluded.
In his speech, Teddy Surianto, the Chairman of the Multimedia Nusantara Foundation, saw the same vision, mission, and problems. Teddy also said that Multimedia Nusantara University wanted to participate in building a good national economy, data development, and human resource development.

“Seeing the same Vision, Mission, and problems, we want to build a good national economy. This collaboration is not just an MOU; we want to execute and have results. We, from the Multimedia Nusantara Foundation, are very supportive and agree with human development. We see the seriousness of the institution in preparing its cadres, so we strongly agree that the problem must develop human resources related to this Master’s program,” Teddy said.
In the follow-up discussion, Teddy also said that he would try to realize the development of educational institutions in the TOD area because, generally, TOD is synonymous with retail businesses. But, if there is a crowd of educational institutions that are sharpening knowledge in the TOD area, of course, MRT also contributes to public intelligence.
Signing MoU between UMN and MRT (Doc. UMN)
The collaboration that UMN and MRT Jakarta will carry out has produced many exciting collaboration programs, including the creation of a learning management system (LMS) for MRT Jakarta, research by UMN Consulting, 3D animation creation, one of which is for the MRT Jakarta mascot ‘Marti’, data analysis for business from DQLab, business incubators with Skystar Venture, and human resource development with UMN’s two Masters programs Master of Management Technology and Master of Communication Science, professional training and certification from UMN Professional Learning (UPL), and event consulting & organizing by Multimedia Nusantara Polytechnic.
Hirzi Hasan, the Business Expansion Representative of MRT Jakarta, said in the discussion that MRT also hopes this collaboration can help students develop projects to produce innovative products and solve existing problems. In the future, MRT Jakarta, in phase 5, wants to build a route from Jakarta to South Tangerang. This is to facilitate both the community and students in their transportation.
“MRT will definitely look at both sides to get mutual benefits. We can empower each other, develop technology, and make new innovations and creativity. So we hope this cooperation is more than what is in the MOU”, Hasan said.
Christoforus Andrianto, Corporate Business UMN, added that the collaboration between UMN and MRT, which covers business, technology, data, and human resource development, can produce valuable products for UMN and MRT’s external industries.
“The hope is that there will be a synergy of business cooperation to complement each other for MRT and UMN or even produce a useful product for our external industry. The duration of this collaboration lasts two years and does not rule out the possibility of other collaborations besides this,” Andrianto said.
Visit to Martha Christina Tiahahu Literacy Park, Blok M (Doc. UMN)\
In addition to the discussion and signing of the MOU, there was also a site visit. The Jakarta MRT also invited UMN to visit from the Jakarta MRT Transport Hub office and ride the MRT on the Dukuh Atas – Blok M route. This MRT is undoubtedly more efficient because it is faster and has easy access, and UMN representatives also get the chance to experience riding the MRT.
During this visit, UMN and MRT also visited the Martha Christina Tiahahu Literacy Park located in Blok M, one of the transit-oriented development (TOD) areas of the Blok M MRT Jakarta Station. This Literacy Park has several facilities provided for the community, such as eating places, cafes, and reading sites, and they also provide a place for external parties to organize music concerts and other events.
