October 13, 2021TANGERANG – Multimedia Nusantara University’s students passed the 34th National Student Scientific Week (PIMNAS) 2021 in the category of Student Creativity Program for the Application of Science and Technology (PKM-PI). This by virtue of Letter Number 2200/J3/KM.02.13/2021 concerning “Announcement and Invitation for 34th PIMNAS Participants in 2021” on September 28, 2021. They carried out a research entitled “Implementation of Digital Marketing to Increase Marketing Effectiveness of MSME Viona Mask”.
The team members who passed the 34th PIMNAS came from different majors and year batches. They were Cherie Jesslyn (Study Program of Management, 2018), I Gusti Agung Ayu Made Bidari Bening Buana (Study Program of Information Systems, 2018), and Alfina (Study Program of Visual Communication Design, 2019). According to them, this collaboration is a very valuable experience to unite and produce this interesting research idea.
When contacted via electronic message, Cherie told the background of the emergence of this research idea. He said that there are still many Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia that do not understand how to market their products or services on the digital platforms. The MSMEs they focus on in this research are the online business of cloth mask.
“In fact, the potential is huge. We took this title because, in addition to the relatively high demand in Indonesia, digital marketing can also indirectly improve Indonesia’s micro-economy,” Cherie said.

Cherie and the team members also admitted that they had to face many hurdles and obstacles to qualify for this tight selection. Nevertheless, they are grateful to be able to face it thanks to the supportive team members and various parties at UMN. Currently, they are also preparing for the 34th PIMNAS. This preparation starts from making comprehensive and interesting presentations, posters, and scientific articles.
“Hopefully, we can try our best and that effort is conveyed properly so that whatever the result is, we will not regret it,” said Cherie.
The 34th PIMNAS in 2021 was organized by the National Achievement Center (Puspresnas) in collaboration with the University of North Sumatra as the host of the event. The 34th PIMNAS will also be held online on 26-30 October 2021.
