October 19, 2021The Language Forensic Laboratory (Forensic Lab) organized an event entitled The Language Forensic Laboratory Enrichment Workshop at Teraskita Hotel, Cawang, East Jakarta. The event held on October 9-12, 2021 is one of a series of activities of the Working Group and Professional Services (KKLP) language and law and KKLP Protection of Language and Literature).
In addition to the finalists of The Language Ambassador, the event was also attended by 20 students of Multimedia Nusantara University (UMN) as workshop participants. Twelve students are from the Faculty of Communication Sciences (FIKOM), Journalism Study Program. Eight students are from the Faculty of Arts and Design (FSD), Visual Communication Design Study Program (DKV).
This activity presents Dr. Niknik M. Kuntarto, M.Hum who fills in materials on language forensics and Dr. Sn. Yusup Sigit Martyastiadi, S.T., M.Inf.Tech who provides graphic design materials.
This workshop also presented Aribowo Sasmito as one of the founders of the Indonesian Anti-Defamation Society (MAFINDO). MAFINDO is a community organization that aims to socialize the dangers of false information (hoax).
A series of activities are presented to help the development of forensic labs in terms of development and design. UMN journalism students contributed to producing eight hard news articles, two review reviews, two profile articles, and two opinion articles.

Then, UMN DKV students contributed to producing infographics, UI / UX interface. All the works of UMN students will be published on the official website of The Forbas Lab.
In addition to lab development, the workshop invites students to combat disinformation. This material was presented by Aribowo Sasmito, Co-Founder of MAFINDO.
“In Indonesia, there is now infodemic. A lot of information circulated on social media and a lot of hoax information scattered. Infodemic can be more dangerous than the Covid-19 pandemic,” said Aribowo, when giving material on Monday (11/10/2021).
Aribowo provides material related to the impact that can occur due to hoaxes. He also equipped participants related to how to do fact checking. There are various devices on the internet that can be accessed to analyze hoax text, images, and videos.
“We can fight the hoax of ourselves. We must dare to find out a fact and tell others so that no one is consumed by hoaxes,” aribowo said.
