October 29, 2021TANGERANG – Have you made investment or are you just starting investment? Investment has now become one of the trends in society. The Capital Market Study Group of Multimedia Nusantara University (KSPM UMN) teaming up with the Faculty of Business, Multimedia Nusantara University, held a webinar entitled “Financial Planning vs. Reality, What Could Go Wrong?” on Thursday morning (10/28/21). Divided into three sessions, the webinar presented three experienced speakers.
In the first session, representing SIPF Indonesia, Ririh Asih gave her presentation. In this session, Ririh shared her understanding of the Investor Protection Fund (DPP) in capital markets. According to SIPF Indonesia, the Investor Protection Fund (DPP) is a collection of funds formed to protect investors from loss of assets. On this occasion, Ririh also shared several things that need to be considered regarding the protection of investment funds.
First, Ririh said that we need to make sure to have idle money. Idle money does not come from allocation funds, emergency funds, and education funds. Second, check and re-check. Ririh reminded that there is no such thing as “easy money”. So, don’t be tempted by high profits. Third, she recommended monitoring between Account Statements and portfolios at access.ksei.co.id. The last is to protect personal data and continue to study the capital markets.
In the second session, Gerhard Van De Venter, a Professor of the University of Technology Sydney, introduced more specifically about cryptocurrencies. Gerhard described a variety of cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin and ethereum (ETH).
Furthermore, Gerhard said that there are several advantages and disadvantages to investing in this cryptocurrency. For this reason, Gerhard emphasized the importance of understanding the various types of investment instruments and their risks before starting to invest. He also warns not to invest just because of the fear of missing out and due to mortal greed.

“Before you invest in anything in a stock market, you must have a clear understanding of what you are investing in. If you choose bitcoin, you have to understand what bitcoin is,” explained Gerhard.
Finally, Gema Merdeka Goeyardi as Investment Influencer and Founder of Astronacci closed the third session of the webinar. In this session, Gema explained in depth the understanding of financial planning. According to Gema, financial planning is important to help us accept the risks of investing. Therefore, he also warns that this financial planning will not always happen as expected.
Gema also believes that the capital market is a place to earn money. Here, Gama explained more specifically about stocks. He said many traders have made many mistakes, including lack of knowledge about the entry price, lack of knowledge about the best time to buy, and lack of planning about trading. To solve this problem, Gema also explained several solutions that can be done to carry out more deliberate financial planning.
