TANGERANG – The Alumni Family (Keluarga Alumni) of Multimedia Nusantara University (KAMI UMN) handed over laboratory equipment to UMN’s Faculty of Engineering and Informatics, which includes the Informatics, Engineering Physics, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, and Electrical Engineering study program. The equipment will later be used as a supporting facility for academic activities. This handover was carried out in the Faculty of Engineering and Informatics UMN room, Building A, 5th floor, on (14/4/2023).
On this occasion, (UMN Vice-Rector for Student Affairs) Ika Yanuarti; (UMN External Student Affairs Manager) Elfira Fitri Wahyono; (Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Informatics) Niki Prastomo, (Dean of Informatics Study Program) Melinda Vasti Overbeek; (Dean of Information Systems Study Program) Ririn Ikana Desanti; (Dean of Physics Engineering Study Program) Muhammad Salehuddin; (Dean of Computer Engineering Study Program), (Dean of Electrical Engineering Study Program) Ahmad Syahril Muharrom; and (KAMI UMN representative) Luqyana Fitri Anggraeni (Informatics System Alumni Class of 2013).
Ika explained that the purpose of contributing to the study program was so that KAMI UMN could contribute to its alma mater. This contribution goes with UMN and their alumni’s goal, which is “back to campus.” Through “back to campus,” alumni don’t forget their alma mater and campus by providing valuable equipment to UMN’s study programs. As the alums have received plenty of knowledge during their time in college, now is the time to contribute back to the study program.
“It is hoped that in the future this contribution will take place regularly, and together with KAMI UMN, we will periodically confirm the needs of the study program. Then the request for these needs can be submitted by the study program to KAMI UMN, not limited to lab equipment, but also in the form of non-academic facilities, such as the need for knowledge sharing by inviting guest lecturers from alumni,” Ika said.
This contribution, which is given materially and morally, is one proof of active alums’ support for the development of the study programs and active students.
The items provided by KAMI UMN are supporting equipment for laboratory activities, practices, and an online platform that provides interactive video courses and tutorials in various fields (UDEMY). Laboratory equipment was given to the Physics Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Electrical Engineering study programs. Then UDEMY is given to the Informatics and Information Systems study programs.

Niki is very grateful to KAMI UMN for contributing to the study program because it can be useful for study programs, lecturers, and students. The equipment contributed can be used for research, thesis, or to support activities in practicum classes.
“As for UDEMY, it will also be used to develop lecturers’ abilities which will be returned to students. So alumni also help academic activities,” Niki said.
Niki also revealed that this contribution provides enthusiasm to continue to give their best as their contribution plays a part in students’ learning process and research. It can also improve the ability of lecturers and students. With the new equipment provided, new abilities will be born as well.
“Hopefully, this (the contribution) can really be utilized well. Hopefully, from the alumni’s point of view, this can continue because when active students receive alumni assistance, one day, they will also become alumni who will contribute too,” concluded Niki in a brief interview.
The Informatics Study Program is also very grateful for the alums’ contribution. Vasti shared that this is very helpful for younger students to develop their learning experience. So it’s not just learning in class; they also have other supplementary learning to add to their abilities, like internships and more.
Samuel added that with this contribution, hopefully, it can continue to support learning activities in the study program.
