Tangerang – On Monday (19/08), the Professional Assessors Association (Ikatan Asesor Profesional/IASPRO) Branch Management Board (Dewan Pengurus Cabang/DPC) Tangerang conducted the inauguration of the Tangerang branch of the IASPRO DPC team. This inauguration was held at Lecture Hall, Universitas Multimedia Nusantara Campus. In addition to the inauguration, this activity also included a talk show with the IASPRO DPC Tangerang Team.
IASPRO DPC Tangerang inaugurated 16 people as the DPC of the Tangerang Professional Assessor Association for the 2024 – 2029 Period. The Executive Board includes Dr. Indiwan Seto Wahjuwibowo, M.Si., the Chairperson of DPC IASPRO Tangerang; Dr. Yoyoh Hereyah M.Si., CPR., Vice Chairperson I; and Dr. Aries Zuswana as Vice Chairperson II.
Rudi Hartono, M.T., and Dr. Winarno as Trustees; Mangun Winata, S.Sos., Sofianam M.Kom., and Ir. Agus Hikmat, M.M., as Advisors; Suandi Sitorus as Secretary; and Theresia Lavietha Vivrie Lolita, S.I.Kom., M.I.Kom., as Treasurer.
“Being an assessor is not an easy and noble job, don’t just be proud to be an assessor, but it must be honed. Even though it is tiring, we must be proud to be able to get here. I hope this organization can be stronger, empower all access, and embrace the government so that we can contribute to the nation’s children and professionals,” Wahyu, Deputy Chairperson of DPN IASPRO, said.
Wahyu also said that IASPRO will continue to run online and offline activities for assessors to discuss problems in the field.
“Every time I see an inauguration ceremony, I can only advise two things: congratulations to you for having the honor to carry a responsibility that is not light. Those who have the honor have an obligation. Don’t just be happy with the honor and forget the responsibilities. The second is competence. I would be happy if UMN graduates became competent graduates,” said Ninok Leksono, UMN Rector.
Continuing this, Ninok feels that in the industry, it is not only the graduation certificate that is important but also what the graduate can do. Ninok also hopes that later, IASPRO can bring progress, not only alone but together.
“Our wish from DPC Tangerang is not polarized in one place. Hopefully, more innovations and activities will be realized. I hope this can bring positive internal and external changes. Internally, we can create an active and innovative learning community, meet the quality standards of assessors, and externally, we can work with the local government and hold community service and socialization programs,” said Sofiana, the Advisor of DPC IASPRO Tangerang.
The DPC assessor team designed four work programs, from providing workshops and training, bridging needs, organizing seminars and conferences, and conducting meetings and refreshments for members.
“Thank you to everyone who came. I am very inspired by DPC Depok and encouraged to build DPC Tangerang. We have been preparing for this for about six months. The most important thing for me is friendship, and the most important thing is to impact the community positively,” said Indiwan, Chairman of DPC Tangerang.
As a form of inauguration, the 16 Board of Trustees read the pledge and oath and installed pins. This activity was followed by a talk show on the theme “The Role of Assessors in Developing the Capacity of Prospective Workers,” with four keynote speakers: Dr. Ir. P. M. Winarno, M.Kom., Rudi Hartono, M.T., Ir. H. Wahyu Adiartono, MBA, PhD, and Dr. Aries Zuswana.

The talk show discussed Indonesia’s economic movement and many cases of layoffs in Indonesia today.
“Indonesia would not be able to jump far if it did not go through the steps below, just like the steps of a ladder. We also cannot be like this without challenges from abroad. Currently, we are building special economic zones to compete in the economic sector,” Rudi said.
Rudi said that we need to focus on the labor-intensive industrial economy. Rudi saw that the Banten region is more advanced than five years ago. He also noted that in Tangerang, there is more reprocessing than production. Rudi advised us to change our mindset, and assessors in Tangerang should not just look at the number or the competition. It is hoped that the existence of IASPRO will motivate the advancement of the workforce in Tangerang.
“The aspect of our preparation as assessors is present to become a motor for profit. Actually, in the world of education, after we dug up, we found that the scheme and curriculum are not synchronized, but from this condition, we can identify the customer,” said Aries.
Aries also said that he is currently trying to bring the curriculum closer to the scheme and must bring the two things together. Aries hopes for the assessors to work together because working on the problems alone is impossible.
Responding to this, Winarno felt that the economy is currently experiencing a tsunami in the form of technology, or “disruptive technology.” This technology is transforming the economy digitally.
“An example of disruptive technology that we can see today is that many newspapers, books, and magazines have gone bankrupt. This can happen because the business model has not been found, such as how to sell it or encourage people to subscribe to digital media. This can happen because of core tech or web 2.0,” Winarno said.
In this discussion, Winarno concluded that the role of assessors needs to improve the developing field, especially in the IT field. The community must be directed to digital training and digital literacy.
“I think three aspects are quite important: education, work, and competence. We agree that not only quantitative is important but also qualitative. The assessor’s task is to ensure a person’s competence due to training and entering the industry. I hope the existence of IASPRO can increase the competence of our workforce and also our competence. I am sure if we work together, we can grow well,” Aries said.
When there are approximately 1200 competency-based trainings, this is a form of assistance from IASPRO to help local governments so that all prospective workers have certification. IASPRO’s main goal is to prepare the workforce to be more competent and do it gradually.
“The right step that assessors can take is to face the reality that technical progress is inevitable, so that many fields that were previously separate are now more unified and are required to master IT technology. We must be willing to fulfill IT needs,” Winarno concluded.
