Accreditation is a form of assessment with criteria set by national university standards. For higher education, accreditation is given to institutions and study programs. In short, accreditation is one way to determine the feasibility of institutions and study programs.

Accreditation is carried out by an institution or a third party. In Indonesia, higher education institutions are accredited through the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education. While specifically, the Independent Accreditation Institute conducts accreditation for study programs. However, if the Independent Accreditation Institute has yet to be formed, then the task is taken over by BAN-PT.

Accreditation is valid for 5 years. So, every 5 years, universities must be re-accredited to get a score that guarantees the institution’s quality.

Campus or often known as a university, is one of the higher education institutions. In this case, the campus is an institution where several faculties offer study programs. This is how to check campus accreditation:

1. Open the site https://www.banpt.or.id/. 
2. Select “Accreditation Data” > “Institution (current).”
3. Wait a few moments until the accreditation column appears.
4. Fill in the “Higher Education” column with the name of the campus you are going to.
5. After filling in the column, there will be information regarding the rank, decree number, year of decree, region, date, and expiration status.

When checking the accreditation of study programs, you are still using the same website. However, there are slightly different steps; here’s how:

1. Open the site https://www.banpt.or.id/ 
2. Select “Accreditation Data” > “Study Program (current).”
3. Wait a few moments until the accreditation column appears.
4. Fill in the “Higher Education” column with the name of the campus you are going to.
5. Then, fill in the “Study Program” column with the name of the intended study program on the campus.
6. Later there will be information regarding the rank, decree number, year of decree, region, date, and expiration status.
