December 4, 2023UMN 17th Birthday Celebration with the Chairperson of the Foundation & Rectorate (Doc. UMN).
Tangerang – Universitas Multimedia Nusantara celebrated its 17th anniversary on (27/11). This celebration was accompanied by a visit to the hero’s cemetary (makam pahlawan) & thanksgiving at UMN.
UMN’s 17th Birthday and Anniversary carry the theme “Towards World Class University UMN” because UMN will soon become an international university. UMN will develop education, research, and innovation that will be useful internationally in the future.
On UMN’s sweet 17th, there were several series of activities. The first activity was the sowing of flowers for the late Mr. Jakob Oetama at the Heroes Cemetery, attended by Ir. Teddy Surianto, the Chairperson of the UMN Foundation; Dr. Ninok Leksono, M.A, UMN’s Rector; Dr. Friska Natalia, S.Kom, M.T, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs; Ika Yanuarti, S.E., M.S.F, CSA, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs; Prof. Dr. Muliawati G. Siswanto, M.Eng.Sc, Vice-Rector for Relations & Cooperation; and Dr. Ir. P. M. Winarno, M.Kom, Chairman of LPPM.
After the Flower Sowing activity, there was also a celebration on the UMN campus, attended by the rectorate, head of the Foundation, BEM, HMJ, and campus media. In this activity, the celebration was held together with UMN lecturers, staff, and students.

“Today is the sweet seventeen of UMN, likened to a woman who becomes more beautiful, and a man becomes more handsome. But what is no less important is that homo sapiens must be smart. Be smart with character; have a good character. Show the best achievements in the workplace, show that you are gills that can be proud of,” said Ninok in his speech.
The next speech was continued by the Chairman of the Multimedia Nusantara Foundation, Teddy Surianto, who also came and celebrated UMN’s birthday.

“I am happy for UMN’s birthday. I hope that UMN students will be able to shock the world with their achievements. Let’s celebrate UMN’s sweet seventeen with joy,” said Teddy.
After the speech, Ninok cut the tumpeng (a Javanese cuisine of Indonesia inseparable from celebrations) as a form of thanksgiving, and there was also a candle blowing. This celebration was also accompanied by Mufomic (UMN student organization) and fellow UMN students. UMN’s 17th birthday was celebrated at the Canteen Building C, UMN.

UMN’s 17th-anniversary celebration was also enlivened with door prize draws. There were 170 door prizes ranging from Smart-TV, iPad, household electronics, MAP vouchers, vacation vouchers, and many more. UMN also provides vouchers, and all canteen food prices are only Rp17,000. This celebration was celebrated joyfully, and the lecturers, staff, and students were happy with UMN’s 17th birthday celebration.
