November 28, 2023Tangerang – Throughout 2023, Universitas Multimedia Nusantara has fostered significant collaborations with 46 esteemed international institutions, contributing to research across various Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These partnerships reflect our commitment to creating global impact through academic cooperation and knowledge exchange. Together, we have worked on multiple projects aligned with the SDGs, addressing some of the world’s most pressing challenges and driving forward UMN’s mission to support sustainable development. Throughout 2023, Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN) has built impactful collaborations with 46 renowned institutions worldwide, contributing to research that advances various Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These partnerships underscore UMN’s commitment to global change, fostering academic cooperation and knowledge exchange that address some of the world’s most pressing challenges. From sustainable cities to clean sanitation and spanning diverse regions from Ethiopia to the United Kingdom, UMN’s research has explored a wide range of topics through partnerships that support sustainable development.
Looking ahead, UMN is eager to continue expanding these collaborations, focusing on innovative, sustainable solutions that extend beyond national borders to create lasting benefits for both local and global communities.
One key platform for UMN’s global engagement is the 3rd International Conference on Smart Cities, Automation & Intelligent Computing Systems (ICON-SONICS 2023), hosted by UMN with technical support from IEEE Indonesia Section. This event brought together top researchers and industry experts to discuss advancements in smart city development, automation, and intelligent computing, directly addressing SDGs related to sustainable cities, clean energy, and innovation. ICON-SONICS not only highlights new developments but also promotes international collaboration, providing a forum for cross-border partnerships and practical solutions for achieving the SDGs. UMN’s collaboration with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and Silla University is another example of its dedication to sustainable development. Through the 4th Industrial Revolution Technical Center, this partnership offers specialized training in smart factory systems and cloud big data, preparing students and industry professionals to thrive in the digital age. Supporting SDGs on decent work, economic growth (SDG 8), and industry innovation (SDG 9), this program is a joint effort to create practical solutions for today’s digital and technological challenges.
