September 30, 2021TANGERANG – Career Building is one of the annual debriefings that must be followed by all students at Multimedia Nusantara University. This year, the Entrepreneurship Development Program is one of the sessions given in Career Building 2021 with the title “Generating Potential Businesses Through Prospective Ideas”. This time, Skystar Ventures UMN and CAREER Development Center UMN had the opportunity to invite various experienced mentors to introduce the world of entrepreneurship to about 2000s of UMN third semester students.
The Entrepreneurship Development Program is divided into three sessions tailored to each faculty at UMN. Then, the session for the Faculty of Business, Faculty of Engineering and Informatics presented the Co-Founder &CEO of NusaTalent, Steven Gouw on Tuesday (09/21/21). In addition, there was also a session for the Faculty of Art and Design that invited the Head of IDN Pictures, Susanti Dewi on Tuesday (09/28/21).
In general, this entrepreneurship program discusses some of the main ideas about ideation process and business development process. In the ideation process stage, mentors tell about the background of their business ideas that can answer people’s problems. This is explained from how to search to develop a business idea. As for one way to find a business idea expressed by The Co-Founder &CEO of NusaTalent, Steven Gouw is to follow passion or opportunity.
“Passion is what you like or what you are good at. Opportunity is again a trend. The question is, is there something wrong [between passion and opportunity]? There’s nothing wrong with choosing which one,” Steven said.
Then, at the business development process stage, mentors provide business strategy tips to survive the existing competition. Collaboration is one of the business strategies repeatedly emphasized by both NusaTalent Co-Founder &CEO mentor Steven Gouw and Head of IDN Pictures, Susanti Dewi. They say collaboration or finding business partners is important to develop a business. However, the process of finding a business partner should also not be careless. Steven and Susanti analogize the search for this business partner like “PDKT” when looking for a girlfriend or life partner.

“Approach first. Chatting for months, vacationing together to know, ‘Are they in the same vision?'” said Steven.
In line with Steven, Susanti also revealed the importance of ensuring the similarity of this vision. In addition, Susanti also explained three other important aspects when looking for business partners. Three other aspects that need to be explored to business partners, including the way of leadership, management, and technology. Susanti also believes that collaboration with the right partner will have good implications for the growth of a business.
“If you’re just a pinter doang, but you can’t reflect and cooperate well with friends or communicate well, it can’t be anything,” Susanti said.
