Dr. Agustinus Rusdianto Berto, S.Sos., M.Sc., or usually called Berto, has been studying communication studies at the bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels at the University of Indonesia (UI). He consistently studies communication science in a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary manner, especially in the following study areas: social marketing communications, social communication networks, information intermediary studies, tourism communications, government public relations, mass media, and social media. His experience as a State Civil Apparatus (ASN) for more than ten (10) years dealing with matters of communication and information, transportation, and development planning made him enthusiastic to be actively involved in the study of public communication and governmental research. He was entrusted with being the Chairman and Expert Member to conduct research on the 2018-2020 Communication Program Evaluation at the Communications and Public Information Bureau, Ministry of Transportation. He has also been involved in the data processing and analysis team for the 2016–2017 Indonesian Television Broadcast Program Quality Index Research with the Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI) in collaboration with the Indonesian Communication Scholars Association (ISKI).
In academic research, he was involved in the Research Team for FISIP UI Excellence Research Grants (2016), and his dissertation was awarded the 2019 UI Research Grant. Meanwhile, in organizational experience, apart from participating in initiating the formation of the Association of Indonesian Social Network Researchers (APJARSI), he was also involved in the management of the University of Indonesia Alumni Association (ILUNI UI) for the East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Region. He has taught several courses, such as Investor and Government Relations, Statistics for Social Science, Quantitative Communication Research Methods, Qualitative Communication Research Methods, Strategy Communication Theory, and Strategic Digital Media Management.
