September 1, 2022TANGERANG – Multimedia Nusantara University (UMN) collaborated with the Indonesian Corruption Eradication Commission (Komisi Pemberantasan Korupsi/KPK) through the Inspirational Anti-Gratification Documentary Film. Lecturers and students produced this film across UMN study programs, namely the Film and Digital Journalism department.
“Together with UMN, we would like to convey to the public that through small things like this is the way to eradicate corruption,” Pahala Nainggolan, the Deputy for Prevention and Monitoring of KPK, said.
This documentary tells the inspiring story of five people who are anti-gratification activists. The five inspirational figures came from the Gratification Control Unit: Musdalipa in Pangkajene, Rifqi Abdillah in Probolingo, Budi Ali Hidayat in Cimahi, Achmad Nasution in Boyolali, and Badrul in Sumenep.
“This is a creative medium that is expected to be an interesting and immersive source of information that can instill the principle of anti-gratification more transparently and interestingly,” Muhammad Cahya Mulya Daulay, the Dean of the Faculty of Art and Design, said.
One of the UMN Film lecturers involved in the production of this film, Petrus Damiami Sitepu, said that the documentary would be used as material for socialization by the Corruption Prevention Network (Jaringan Pencegahan Korupsi/JAGA) of KPK in all provinces of Indonesia. He also hopes this film can inspire the public not to accept gratification, which is the root of corruption.
On Thursday (25/8), the stories of each inspiring person premiered at the Lecture Theater of UMN. In total, there are five film titles: “Integer,” “Boyolali Tersenyum”, “Rumah Kejujuran”, “Uang Nikah”, and “Jalan Kebaikan.” KPK representatives and The UMN students also enlivened the premiere of this documentary.
At the same time, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between UMN and KPK. The process was represented by the Dean of the Faculty of Art and Design, Muhammad Cahya Mulya Daulay, and the Director of Gratification and Public Services, Herda Helmijaya.
This collaboration will open up many opportunities for UMN students, one of which is an internship at the KPK. On the other hand, KPK’s Deputy for Prevention and Monitoring, Pahala Nainggolan, said the benefits of this collaboration could also continue to grow.
