TANGERANG – The Communications Distance Learning (Pendidikan Jarak Jauh/PJJ) Study Program at Multimedia Nusantara University (UMN) received Accreditation B (Excellent) from The National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (Badan Akreditasi Nasional-Perguruan Tinggi/BAN-PT. This is one of the achievements of a study program re-accredited after two years of operation. The accreditation was determined based on the Decree of the Director of the BAN-PT Executive Board No. 1054/SK/BAN-PT/Ak/S/III/2023, issued on Tuesday, March 21, 2023.
The Dean of UMN’s Faculty of Communication Sciences, Ir. Andrey Andoko, M.Sc., explained that as a new study program, the re-accreditation is the first since its opening, which is required no later than two years after operating.
“Because it is still new and there are no graduates yet, this result is the maximum that can be achieved and in accordance with what is expected,” Andrey continued.
The UMN Communications Distance Learning study program was established as part of UMN’s strategy in responding to the application of ICT for flexible learning that can be followed anytime and from anywhere. Prior to the establishment of UMN’s Communication Distance Learning Program, digital (online) learning modules had been developed and implemented as part of regular learning.
“Distance Learning targets prospective students who experience location constraints (where they live far from the UMN campus), economic constraints, and time constraints because they are working,” Andrey said.
Andrey hopes that The Communications Distance Learning of UMN can reach more students from various circles and regions in Indonesia to get good quality education and increase the competence of the community needed by the world of work so that it can open up opportunities to improve welfare.
In addition, it is also expected to increase the Gross Participation Rate of high school graduates who can continue to college.

She also expressed her gratitude to all members of the Communications Distance Learning Study Program team members, the Vice-Rectors and leaders, and Heads of Departments in UMN who helped achieve this accreditation.
“Likewise for the assessors, Mrs. Mite and Mr. Anang, who have provided valuable assessments and input for the Distance Learning Study Program,” Helga added.
After the Communications Distance Learning Study Program receives Accreditation B, the study program will continue to improve the quality of the study program from lecturer publications, student involvement, cooperation, to student achievement. In addition, they will continue developing and improving the study program in terms of the number of students and the quality of teaching.
Helga hopes that the Communications Distance Learning of UMN will have a good impact on society at large. The Communications Distance Learning of UMN aims to provide broader access to education to people constrained by distance and time.
