SEMARANG – The Community Service Program created by a team of lecturers from Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN) who are members of group 14 managed to get a grant of IDR 36,388,000 and an award as Best Presenter at the Research and Community Service Implementation Results Seminar of the Ministry of Education and Culture’s Directorate of Academic Higher Education Vocational (DAPTV). The lecturer team was led by Yoanita Alexandra, S.E., B.A., M.Par. (Hospitality Study Program) and consists of Dinar Ajeng Kristiyanti, S.Kom., M.Kom., (Information Systems Study Program), and Dr. Ringkar Situmorang, B.Sc., MBA. (Hospitality Study Program). The event was held on Monday (18/12/2023) at the Grand Hotel Semarang.
At this event, the community of academics, researchers, and practitioners in the field of vocational higher education also gathered. Participants came from various higher education institutions across the country and shared the latest ideas, achievements, and innovations in the field of vocational education.
The UMN lecturer team, which received a grant at this event, was also one of the participants who presented the results of Community Service entitled “Empowering Community Partnerships as a Companion to Information Technology-Based Culinary Business Strategies in BUMDes Serdang Tirta Kencana MSMEs.” The community service made was in the form of training programs, providing tools, journals, and others.

“In the seminar on the results of research and service grants, we, vocational lecturers from various fields, are brought together in one place, so that the activity runs interestingly. The results of the presentations of research and service activities of other vocational lecturers are also very inspiring, because they provide an overview of Indonesian vocations from the point of view of different expertise,” Yoanita said.
The series of events consisted of discussion sessions, presentations, and workshops. Participants were able to explore the best strategies for putting research into practice, expand collaboration networks, and identify the latest trends in vocational higher education.

This results seminar is not only a forum for sharing knowledge but also a real step in advancing the vocational higher education sector and making cross-institutional collaboration the key to success for a brighter future.
“The results seminar is very useful for grantees because in addition to being accountable for the use of government funds, we can also directly show the work and innovations of cross-program and cross-institutional lecturer teams that are applied directly to the community. The event was successful and full of the spirit of collaboration, as well as the spirit to continue innovating in vocational education. It is hoped that this seminar will make a significant contribution to the development and improvement of the quality of vocational higher education in the future.
