September 21, 2015The beginning of the lecture in the new semester usually provides its own assignments for the students. With the new course, they also need a textbook that matches the course taken. Not infrequently, this makes students hassle because they do not know the bookstore that sells textbooks.
Seeing this phenomenon, the UMN Library took the initiative to hold a book exhibition. Campus Book Fair 2015 was born. This event collaborated with many well-known publishers, distributors, bookstores and stationary such as Periplus, Books&Beyond, Salemba Publisher, Cita Usaha, Gramedia Pustaka Utama, Kompas Book Publisher, Elex Media Komputindo, Grasindo, Gunung Agung Store, and Staples Stationary. This activity will last for 5 days, starting from 31 Agutus – September 4, 2015 in Lobby B UMN.
“This event is intended to help students get the books and lecture tools needed directly without having to go to bookstores or vendors at a cheaper price,” explained Orisa Mahardhini, Umn Library Superintendent.
The collections available at the Campus Book Fair 2015 also vary widely. Not only college books, but there are also fiction books, non-fiction and also stationary to material art. Interesting promos can also be obtained by umn academic community here, ranging from 20% discount to buy 1 get 1 free.
Orisa hopes that the existence of the first campus book fair held can be utilized to the maximum to add library treasures. In addition, this activity is expected to also encourage students to love books more and increase interest and the interest in reading.
