TANGERANG – Certiport representative Mandaar Barve, the Regional Manager of Certiport Programs, Pearson Vue, visited the Multimedia Nusantara University (UMN) campus on Thursday (30/03/2023). Mandaar’s visit was welcomed by Johannes Tambing Boro, S.Pd., the Manager of UMN’s Continuing Education Department (CED), and other UMN staff.
“Certiport is the world’s largest international provider of certification exam development. Certiport is under Pearson VUE, a certification institution that has been established for a very long time, based in America. They organize worldwide certification throughout the world,” Johannes said.
UMN has been collaborating with Certiport and International Test Center (ITC) Indonesia. UMN became one of Certiport’s test center where UMN students can be certified by the various certifications offered by Certiport.
“UMN has been working with them for a long time, and we offer certifications organized by Certiport to UMN students like Adobe, Microsoft certification, IT Specialist, Autodesk, and others,” Johannes said.

Not just being a test center, this collaboration also allows UMN students to also get a “Practice Test,” where UMN students can take a simulation test to prepare them before taking the actual test.
Hence, Mandaar’s visit is an opportunity for him to meet the UMN staff and discuss their progress in becoming a test center and provide students with those industry certifications.
In addition to seeing UMN’s progress, Mandaar and UMN representatives also discussed the potential for new collaborations. In a separate interview, he shared one program called “Unity.”
“So, UMN students are using Unity to create some game development, AR, VR, and we are discussing some aspects of that certification. There are other programs like communication skills, entrepreneurship, or digital literacy. There are many options available,” Mandaar said.
Johannes hopes that the collaboration doesn’t stop with certifications. He shared that he wishes to broaden the collaboration in other aspects like lecturer training, providing seminar speakers, or public lectures at UMN.

In the same opportunity, Mandaar also praised UMN’s building. He is impressed by how UMN, a young campus, is awarded for its green building.
“If you were doing something 10 years back, you are much ahead of the curve. So, that’s great! I really love the campus, the high ceilings, and the eco-friendly ventilation method,” Mandaar said, praising the UMN campus building.
As for now, UMN will keep expanding the certifications– providing more various certifications for UMN students. UMN students can easily check what certifications are available through their student emails.
“We are already working very closely with UMN and through our country partner, ITC Indonesia. We already have a collaboration, and it will be here for a long time. We will just continue to expand it,” Mandaar concluded.
