September 27, 2022TANGERANG – A team of lecturers across study programs at Multimedia Nusantara University (UMN) collaborated and succeeded in receiving a grant from a prestigious program, namely the Matching Fund Kedaireka 2022. They proposed a proposal entitled “Virtual Gramedia Store” in collaboration with PT Gramedia Asri Media.
This Virtual Gramedia Store concept offers a different experience for hunters and book lovers. Not just a means to buy books; the Virtual Gramedia Store will become a social space that reaches the wider community.
“Book readers can share and tell stories about the top books they found and can interact with each other,” explained the team leader who initiated the “Virtual Gramedia Store”, Clemens Felix Setiyawan.
Felix is currently an active lecturer at UMN’s Visual Communication Design Study Program. In designing the “Virtual Gramedia Store” proposal, Felix collaborated with UMN lecturers from different study programs.
The team of lecturers in this project consists of lecturers from VCD UMN, Clemens Felix Setiyawan and Ardiles Akyuwen; UMN Management lecturers, Arief Iswariyadi and Mohammad Annas; UMN Informatics lecturer, Ni Made Satvika Iswari.
Before entering the production stage, Felix said his team would conduct in-depth research on the Gramedia bookstore to finalize the Virtual Gramedia Store. After that, a total of 110 UMN students will be involved in the production stage of the “Virtual Gramedia Store” project.
“The team is happy because the submission process has gone through a tortuous process, several revisions, and some processes are quite exciting,” Felix said.
The Kedaireka Matching Fund is a funding program from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia to support collaboration and strategic synergy between higher education institutions and the industry. This “Virtual Gramedia Store” proposal at least competes with hundreds of proposals from all universities in Indonesia.
