December 10, 2015Multimedia Nusantara University held the night of the awarding of Miss UMN in the third year. This year, with the theme “The Power of Beauty”, Miss UMN wants to make sure that beauty is not only beautiful to be seen but can also have a positive impact and bring good change to the surroundings.
After going through a series of selections and quarantines, finally the twenty finalists appeared in the night of the awarding of Miss UMN 2015, Saturday (14/11) then at the UMN Function Hall. They competed to show their talents and thoughts to fight for the title of Miss UMN 2015.
There are several stages of selection in this award night. Out of a total of 20 finalists, finally in the final stages only appeared 3 names who had a chance to become Miss UMN. Those who qualified for the final stages are Shintya Feronica (PR 2014), Karisma Indrajayanti (Journalism 2014), and Vanieke Khoirunnisa (PR 2013).
They then had to answer questions raised by the jury about the general values that are Gramedia Compass values that are also applied by UMN, namely Caring, Credible, Competent, Competitive, Customer Delight and the most important value according to the Misses. All three gave their own opinions in no more than 30 seconds.
After a fairly long discussion among the jury, the long-awaited announcement came as well. Ivhanrel Sured, World Miss University Indonesia 2015 who also judged said physical beauty alone is not enough to become a champion. “To become a Miss, it takes a balance between beauty, intelligence, and soft skills,” she said.
Finally, Shintya Feronica (PR 2014) was crowned Miss UMN 2015. Miss UMN 2014, Michelle Lawrensia, gave her the crown. The first runner up was captured by Karisma Indrajayanti (Journalism 2014) and the second runner up by Vanieka Khoirunnisa (PR 2013).
In addition to ratings for the top three, these Misses were also judged for several predicates such as Miss Multimedia awarded to Jovita Dinata (PR 2014), Miss Friendship awarded to Liviani Cecilia (PR 2014), Miss Favorite to Bertha Wilvensus (PR 2013), and Agnia Ananda Putri (Animation 2013) as Miss Best Talent 2015.
In the future, Shintya said she will carry out a pre-planned work program in order to inspire other women. “Activities that will be carried out include visiting schools to introduce umn campus, be an example for other students, and shine and inspire the wider community,” he said.
The night of the coronation is not the end, but the beginning of a long journey to do good and inspire the surrounding community. Congratulations to all the miss UMN 2015 finalists! (*)
