Tangerang – Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN) is committed to making a tangible contribution to raising living standards worldwide through education. One of its strategic initiatives is setting a quota for students from developing countries, as outlined in Rector’s Decree about Admission of Students from Developing Countries, ensuring they make up at least 25% of UMN’s total international student body each year. This policy not only reflects UMN’s commitment to diversity but also supports its mission to provide quality education opportunities for those from disadvantaged backgrounds, particularly in developing nations.
In alignment with its vision, UMN offers significant support for students from developing countries through a range of financial assistance options, including scholarships and dormitory subsidies of up to 100%. These subsidies reduce the financial burden on students and ensure they have access to safe and comfortable housing, creating a supportive environment for academic and personal growth. With these initiatives, UMN strives to empower students to focus on their studies without the constant worry of financial hardship.
By prioritizing enrollment of students from developing nations, UMN aims to foster a more inclusive learning environment that brings diverse perspectives to the campus community. This approach not only benefits international students but also enriches UMN’s local students by promoting cultural exchange and understanding. Through this mutual exchange, UMN contributes to building a generation that values global diversity and inclusivity, essential traits for future leaders in a connected world.
UMN’s commitment to supporting students from developing countries is also a part of its broader mission to alleviate global poverty. By enabling these students to pursue higher education, UMN helps equip them with the knowledge and skills needed to return to their home countries and make meaningful contributions to their communities. Many of these students become leaders and change-makers in their fields, creating a ripple effect that uplifts societies and promotes sustainable development.
Through these dedicated efforts, UMN demonstrates its commitment to not only providing education but also advancing social and economic equity on a global scale. UMN’s programs for students from developing countries are a testament to its mission to leverage education as a tool for change, making a positive impact that extends far beyond the boundaries of the university.
