TANGERANG – Career Development Center (CDC) of Multimedia Nusantara University (UMN) held the Career Day UMN 2023 with a series of Career Webinars and a Job Fair Expo. The event Invited many experienced speakers to the webinar, and 50 companies with more than 300 job vacancies were present at the job fair. The event was held at UMN Campus on May 15-17, 2023 (webinar) and May 23-24, 2023 (job fair expo).
Career Day UMN 2023 is a series of activities that provide opportunities, especially for UMN students and alumni, to meet and get information about companies opening internships and full-time vacancies.
The event was opened with a speech from UMN’s Vice Rector for Student Affairs, Ika Yanuarti, who said this event is held twice a year. It aims to provide facilities for UMN students and graduates to get jobs.
“Now, this is one of the reasons why UMN graduates have a high chance of getting a job or are quickly accepted into the workplace,” Ika said.
In addition to the Career Day event, UMN CDC has career programs. For example, in the 3rd semester of lectures, UMN students will participate in Career Building, Career Preparation, and other career events in collaboration with companies.

The companies present can also work together in providing career guidance and campus hiring for UMN students. This is a form of good cooperation between educational institutions and the world of work. It is hoped that the cooperation with these companies is not limited to this specific event but also seminars, workshops, and other career events.
“It is hoped that good cooperation can produce a link and match that is useful when graduating students by developing a curriculum that follows the needs of the current industrial world. So that what is obtained during education can be directly applied in the workplace, in accordance with what is needed in the workplace,” Ika said.
At this Career Day, UMN still maintains a paperless system. Job seekers only need to bring a digital Curriculum Vitae (CV) because job applicants are directed to submit their CVs and portfolios by scanning barcodes provided at each company booth.
There were also presentations from each company where they introduced the company they represent and the job vacancies available.
