Tangerang – On (18/11/24) UMN received a visit from Prof. Dr. Muhammad Imran Ahmad, the Institute of Sustainable Agrotechnology Director. This visit aims to discuss the collaboration with UMN’s Faculty of Engineering and Informatics, and Imran will have the opportunity to teach classes at UMN.
The Institute of Sustainable Agrotechnology is one of the institutions at Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP). The institute studies agrotechnology for agricultural development using sustainable technology. This visit can certainly expand opportunities for cooperation between UMN and UniMAP in the focus of sustainable agrotechnology.
“I am happy to visit UMN. For me, this is a good opportunity to work together, develop together, and, of course, achieve international rankings for both undergraduate and master’s degrees,” Imran said.
During this visit, Imran discussed the opportunities for cooperation that can be carried out, such as exchanging funds to help research, exchanging students or lecturers, giving guest lectures, and more.
“For the Master’s program collaboration, we can help UMN so that classes can be held online or offline at Universiti Malaysia Perlis. The most important thing is that we can learn much from UMN and vice versa,” Imran continued.
Imran will give guest lectures and workshops at UMN on machine learning and artificial intelligence and also participate in community outreach with UMN’s Institute for Research and Community Service (Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian Masyarakat/LPPM) to conduct research in the field.
“We will later formalize this collaboration through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) so that UMN can collaborate with Universiti Malaysia Perlis. I hope this collaboration can expand UMN’s cooperation with international universities and create a cooperation program with Universiti Malaysia Perlis,” Dr. Eng. Niki Prastomo, S.T., M.Sc., the Dean of UMN’s Faculty of Engineering and Informatics, said.
