This goal reflects UMN’s dedication to breaking poverty barriers through education, offering students from vulnerable backgrounds a transformative path. By prioritizing inclusivity, UMN aims to empower these students to not only complete their studies but also to thrive in their careers and personal lives beyond graduation.
In 2023, UMN celebrated the graduation of 1,891 students, with 138 from underprivileged groups (7.2%). A major milestone symbolizing the completion of higher education and the start of a new professional chapter. For students from low-income families, this achievement often carries profound significance, marking a life-changing moment that opens doors to greater opportunities.
UMN’s commitment to inclusivity goes beyond just providing access to education; it encompasses comprehensive support throughout the students’ academic journey. Low-income students at UMN receive access to resources, mentorship, and numerous opportunities to excel alongside their peers.
