Inauguration of Universitas Multimedia Nusantara and Multimedia Nusantara Polytechnic Campus at Menara Kompas

Jakarta—The Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN) and Multimedia Nusantara Polytechnic (MNP) campuses were officially opened in Menara Kompas, West Jakarta, on Thursday (25/07). The Multimedia Nusantara Foundation opened the Menara Kompas campus to make it closer and more accessible to the public, especially for master’s students, most of whom are professionals working in Jakarta. 

The inauguration of the Universitas Multimedia Nusantara Campus and Multimedia Nusantara Polytechnic was attended by leaders of Kompas Gramedia Group and leaders of Universitas Multimedia Nusantara, namely Lilik Oetama as CEO of Kompas Gramedia, Irwan Oetama as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Multimedia Nusantara Foundation, Harli Ojong as Board of Trustees of the Multimedia Nusantara Foundation, Teddy Surianto as Chairman of the Multimedia Nusantara Foundation, Ninok Leksono as Rector of Universitas Multimedia Nusantara, along with other vice-rectors and Roy Anthonius Susanto as director of Multimedia Nusantara Polytechnic. 

The campus of Universitas Multimedia Nusantara, which has been officially opened at Menara Kompas, offers two Master’s Study Programs: Master of Communication Science and Master of Technology Management. Multimedia Nusantara Polytechnic also offers vocational classes with majors in E-Commerce Logistics and Event Management.

The purpose of opening the Universitas Multimedia Nusantara and Multimedia Polytechnic Campus at Menara Kompas is expected to reach a wider community, increase participation, and quality of education, and support professional development in the Jakarta area and its surroundings.

Teddy, Chairman of the Multimedia Nusantara Foundation, is very proud of the opening of the Universitas Multimedia Nusantara and Multimedia Nusantara Polytechnic Campus at Menara Kompas. Teddy hopes it will further encourage people/communities to continue learning.

“The opening of the Universitas Multimedia Nusantara and Multimedia Nusantara Polytechnic Campus aims to facilitate access to education for the community. Professionals in Jakarta can go directly to Menara Kompas to pursue their education,” Teddy said.

Teddy also conveyed the importance of the UMN & MNP Campus at Menara Kompas as a collaboration to encourage people and the community to learn about education. The hope is that this collaboration can produce a comprehensive spirit and realize new initiatives or ideas.

Lilik Oetama, the CEO of Kompas Gramedia, also delivered a message at the inauguration of the Universitas Multimedia Nusantara and Multimedia Nusantara Polytechnic Campus.

“I congratulate Universitas Multimedia Nusantara and Multimedia Nusantara Polytechnic; I am proud of them. I heard that the number of students at Universitas Multimedia Nusantara has reached more than 10,000, which means that it is growing from time to time. I also agree with Mr. Teddy on the importance of collaboration between Universitas Multimedia Nusantara, Multimedia Nusantara Polytechnic, and Kompas Group,” Lilik said.

Followed by UMN Rector Ninok, Ninok advised that the inauguration of the Universitas Multimedia Nusantara and Multimedia Nusantara Polytechnic Campus could add color and enliven the Kompas Tower.

“With the opening of the Universitas Multimedia Nusantara Campus and Multimedia Nusantara Polytechnic, I hope to help professionals and people who want to deepen their knowledge. For example, the opening of the Master of Communication Science and Master of Technology Management can help media colleagues who intend to develop themselves,” Ninok said.

Ninok also hopes that this new campus can provide opportunities for the younger generation to get the knowledge they need, and these ideals must have a spirit of supporting and encouraging each other.

The leadership of Kompas Gramedia and Universitas Multimedia Nusantara carried out a ribbon cutting together to inaugurate the Universitas Multimedia Nusantara and Multimedia Nusantara Polytechnic Campus at Kompas Tower. The activity continued with a visit to the Universitas Multimedia Nusantara and Multimedia Nusantara Polytechnic Campus.

The campus of Universitas Multimedia Nusantara and Multimedia Nusantara Polytechnic at Menara Kompas is also equipped with facilities such as a library, and students will also get lunch or dinner and can adjust their lecture hours. The new campus at Menara Kompas also offers scholarships and is open to the public in Jakarta and surrounding areas, so it is not only for Kompas Group employees. 

“We opened the Universitas Multimedia Nusantara and Multimedia Nusantara Polytechnic Campus in Menara Kompas to make it more strategic for people who work or live in the Jakarta area and want to take a Master’s at UMN so that access and transportation are easy,” said Sorta Yocevina Putri Rumapea, education Consultant for UMN Masters.

Sorta also said there is no significant difference between learning in Gading Serpong and Menara Kompas. The only difference is the location where students can choose between the two options.

“We hope that with the opening of this new campus, UMN and MNP can grow more and more students because our goal is to reach professionals or workers who are in the Jakarta area, so they can study without thinking about the distance to Gading Serpong,” continued Sorta.

The location of the Universitas Multimedia Nusantara and Multimedia Nusantara Polytechnic Campus will be located on the 9th Floor, Kompas Tower, Palmerah, West Jakarta.
