UMN Alumni and Student Singers. Music is an integral part of our lives. When we are happy, we tune in to upbeat songs with an energizing rhythm. When we are sad, many of us also listen to songs with soothing lyrics. The singer’s voice is also one of the main reasons we choose the song.
As the best private campus in Jakarta, Multimedia Nusantara University has also become a place to study for some of the most excellent singers in Indonesia. Some of their graduates and active students have enlivened the Indonesian music scene. Their ability to sing is also recognized by the public.

1. Tiara Andini

Who doesn’t know this runner-up singer of Indonesian Idol season ten? Tiara Andini is a student of the Communication Science Department at Multimedia Nusantara University.
Tiara Anugrah Eka Setyo Andini has been a singer since childhood in her hometown, Jember, East Java. In the tenth season of Indonesian Idol, Tiara is known as the girl who received a titanium ticket from one of the judges, Judika, and became the only titanium ticket recipient who made it to the final round throughout the history of Indonesian Idol.
At the beginning of her career in the Indonesian music industry, Tiara Andini also got an award as “Best Newcomer” from the Anugerah Musik Indonesia event. In addition, the Mnet Asian Music Awards also recognized Tiara Andini as “Best New Asian Artist Indonesia.”
Another one of Tiara’s recent hits is titled “Janji Setia.” Songs sung by this UMN Communication Science graduate often go viral and become a favorite sound on TikTok.

2. Gamaliel Tapiheru

The name Gamaliel Tapiheru may not sound familiar to our ears. One of the vocalists of the group GAC (Gamaliel, Audrey, and Cantika) is an alumnus of Multimedia Nusantara University, Visual Communication Design Department class of 2010.
Before forming the vocal group GAC, Gamaliel and his sister, Audrey Tapiheru, often uploaded videos of him singing on Youtube. Afterward, they increasingly went public by appearing on various television shows and releasing a single titled “Cuma Aku” in 2011.
Gamaliel then focused on his solo career in 2020 and released his first single titled Forever More. That same year, Gamaliel won the “Best Urban Male/Female Solo Artist” award at Anugerah Musik Indonesia.
In 2022, Gamaliel founded a record label called Sélf Records.
3. Anggi Marito

Besides Tiara Andini, there is also a singer who graduated from the eleventh season of Indonesian Idol and is currently studying at Multimedia Nusantara University. She is Anggi Marito Tiodora Simanjuntak or more commonly known as Anggi Marito. Anggi was the third winner of the eleventh season of Indonesian Idol.
Anggi then joined the Universal Music Indonesia record company and released his first “I Love You” single in 2021.
The student of the Journalism Department at Multimedia Nusantara University then released her second single entitled “Tak Segampang Itu” in 2023. The song managed to top various digital music charts and Billboard Indonesia Songs charts for 3 weeks.
4. Hasyakyla Utami

Hasyakyla Utami is a former member of the girl band JKT48. Along with her sister, Adhisty Zara, Kyla joined the fifth generation of JKT48, who was once promoted to Team KIII before finally being promoted to Team T.
During her time as a JKT48 personnel, Kyla performed several theater shows, such as Pajama Drive, Classmate, Boku to Juliet to Jet Coaster, 7ji 12fun no Hatsukoi, Kikyou, Rider, Romantic Byou, and Ame no Pianist.
This Multimedia Nusantara University Film Department student decided to graduate from JKT48 in 2019. Although no longer in JKT48, Kyla continues her career in the country’s entertainment world. To date, Kyla has starred in 2 movie titles and 3 web series.
5. Bernadya Ribka

One of the Multimedia University Film Department students who began to penetrate the Indonesian music scene is Bernadya Ribka. The girl, who is often called by the name Nadya released her debut single titled “Apa Mungkin” in September 2022. Currently, Nadya is under JUNI Records.
Before having a solo career, Nadya used to start a career in the music industry with her sister, Celine, and formed a duo called Celine & Nadya.
