September 2, 2022TANGERANG – Cool! Mharlinda Puspa Dewi, an Architecture student at Multimedia Nusantara University (UMN) batch 2018, successfully passed the Scientific Articles Student Creativity Program (Program Kreativitas Mahasiswa Artikel Ilmiah/PKM AI) branch and won an incentive of IDR 2,375,000 million.
PKM was initiated by the Directorate General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology – Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Direktorat Jenderal Pendidikan Tinggi, Riset, dan Teknologi – Kementerian Pendidikan, Kebudayaan, Riset, dan Teknologi/Ditjen Diktiristek) to realize the implementation of the Tridharma of Higher Education and encourage creativity and innovation of Indonesian students.
Citing PKM-AI’s site, PKM-AI aims to help and provide a medium for Indonesian students to write scientific articles based on the results of group academic activities that have been carried out. Scientific papers considered good and worthy of publication will receive a cash incentive of IDR 2,500,000 (two million five hundred thousand rupiahs). The accepted scientific papers can be published in the Belmawa Directorate e-journal with the author’s approval.
Mharlinda proposed the topic “Pengaruh Keberhasilan Koridor Publik pada Kampung Terjepit terhadap Wisata Sejarah Lengkong Kiai” (The Effect of Success of the Public Corridor in the Squeezed Village on the Historical Tourism of Lengkong Kiai) to PKM-AI. When interviewed, Mharlinda explained that this idea came from the seminar proposal (a course at UMN) topic she did while studying at UMN. She came up with this idea because of her interest in regional research topics related to urban villages.
“Here, I bring a topic that intersects with the history and local culture of Lengkong Kyai Village, which I see has the potential to become a tourism spot,” Mharlinda explained.
Kampung Lengkong Kyai, also known as Kampung Kulon is one of the popular local Tangerang cultures. According to Tempo.co‘s coverage, Lengkong Kulon has many historical relics which were the forerunners of the formation of Tangerang and Tigaraksa by Arya Wangsakarya, which is now the center of the regional government.
Mharlinda said that through this research, she found various interesting phenomena that are issues and potentials that were not realized by local and foreign communities. From there, Mharlinda tried to raise the problem and the potential to support tourism development and the sustainability of the village itself.
“If I have the opportunity, I would like to research further and try to answer my research issues. What’s more, I hope that this research can support the local community of Kampung Lengkong Kiai through sustainable tourism based on local history and culture,” Mharlinda concluded.
