TANGERANG – The final work of three students of Multimedia Nusantara University (UMN) Journalism Study Program class of 2017 was successfully published by the national media. The work in the form of a podcast with the theme of forest, land, and water crisis managed to attract the attention of the Kompas.com media.
This final work was done in groups by Octaviani Yabes Sijabat, Mutiara Godelava Elbertha Hasian, and Yohana Indah Nur Ratri.
Interviewed online, members of the group claimed that the inspiration for the podcast idea started from a Korean drama that was used as audio storytelling.
“At first we saw there was one of the works with the concept of audio storytelling from a Korean drama,” said Yohana Indah. !.!.!
The theme was raised to invite the younger generation to do something for environmental sustainability. Not only for the environment, this theme also invites listeners to know to see the surrounding culture that began to erode the times.
In making this work, Mutiara claimed there were two members of the group who did not like podcasts, but uniquely, this group still managed to make a work that was eventually glimpsed by the national media in Indonesia.
“I’m more interested in visuals than audio storytelling,” Mutiara said. Choosing the concept of audio storytelling is a new step to get out of the comfort zone of both members of the group.
